What is Hydro-Excavating?

The hydro-excavation process is a non-destructive method using highly pressurized water and a vacuum system to dig.  Our fully self-contained trucks provide our customers with water, pressure and a vacuum all in one unit.  Water from the hydro-vac truck is pressurized and delivered through a unique hand held wand to penetrate the soil.  The resulting sludge (composed of soil and some water is simultaneously vacuumed in the debris hose by a powerful vacuum system and housed in the debris tank on the truck.

Why Hydro-Excavating?

The hydro-excavation method uses highly pressurized water and a vacuum to perform safe and non-destructive removal of soil.  Because water is used to loosen soil and debris, the safety and financial risks of damaging underground infrastructures such as fiber optic cables, water, oil and gas lines, are virtually eliminated.  Our method can provide you a visual observation of existing buried lines and infrastructures so they may be avoided when digging in the ground.

The water has the ability to be heated which can be an advantage in cold temperatures and frozen soil.

With hose lengths, the water can travel distances from the truck providing for smaller spaces and hard-to-reach areas.

Using water and a vacuum is also a clean method, leaving no waste behind, and can significantly reduce the restoration costs of landscaping.
